15 Things to do in Santorini
Santorini is full of wonder and awe. A true romantic destination for couples including honeymooners. The small greek island in the Aegean sea is famous for its picturesque views and landscapes. HIKING TRAIL FIRA-OIA This pretty easy hiking trail is approximately 10km. Taking around 4 hours depending how many shops and other local spots along the way. Enjoy lunch and explore before taking a taxi back.
ANCIENT THERA An ancient city on Mesa Vouno Mountain. Explore the many ruins of roman baths, theatre, cemeteries and churches.
EXCAVATIONS OF AKROTIRI An historical city. Many larger ruins as they were preserved by Volcanic debris. Dated back to 17th Century BC.
SUNSETS IN OIA & VISIT AMMOUDI BAY - Ammoudi bay is located 200 steps below Oia and is a beautiful harbour place with seafood restaurants and small harbour. Oia is known for its breathtaking sunsets. Locals stand in the streets and clap as the sun goes down.

GAIA WINERY. Santorini offers a few vineyards so you may decide to take a Wine tour. Gaia is one of the most beautiful wineries on the island. Open from Mid May to Fall. Tour the wine making facilities and the process.
SANTORINI CABLE CAR not exactly a day out but a great experience if you have the option. Admire the amazing view from the 220m altitude. The route from the Old port to the Capital takes about 3 minutes.
PERISSA BLACK SAND BEACH A laid back traditional beach resort with a great variety of bars and restaurants. The beach is apx 5km long.
RED BEACH Famed for its red hued sand. The beach is classed as unsafe due to the cliffs but you can see it from a distance. A number of Catamaran cruises stop by the beach as well as the White beach beside it. It's a great way to get close and see from upfront.
MUSEUM OF PREHISTORIC THERA The museum is located in Fira. Exhibits include fossils & archeological objects.
ISLAND OF THIRASIA A small island formed by volcanic activity to the west of Santorini. Just a short boat ride from Ammoudi harbour.
ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF THERA Exhibits from the excavations on Mesa Vouno mountain.Includes items such as pots, ceramic objects and ancient statues.
THREE BELLS OF FIRA (CATHOLIC CHURCH) Officially known as the Catholic church but famed for its three bells and blue dome.

AKROTIRI LIGHTHOUSE Built in 1892. Making it one of the oldest in Greece. Ceased operating in world war 2. The Greek navy commissioned the lighthouse in 1945.
CATHEDRAL OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST Located in Fira. This Roman catholic church was built in 1823 and then completely restored in 1970 after the 1956 earthquake. and located in the city center. Inside it is beautifully decorated.
CASTLES - Santorini has a couple of castles throughout the Island. Oia Castle offers amazing sea views and sunsets from the surviving watchtower. Pyrgos Castle has amazing panoramic views. A beautiful white building and in great conditions. Skaros fortress is a rock formation and collection of ruins. It's said to be the oldest castle in Santorini. Unfortunately, it is completely ruined but still worth a visit.
